On February 27, 2020, #DaytonKY once again led the region by naming Opening Day an official holiday, recognizing the importance of Baseball in Dayton’s history, as well as its fabric in our town. We thought we’d have some fun and give our staff the day off to enjoy baseball with their families. Little did we know that Opening Day, as well as the rest of the year, would twist faster than a Sonny Gray curveball. This year we are again excited to recognize Opening Day as an official city holiday, April 1, 2021. We hope our staff and residents who have worked tirelessly this past year to ‘get back to normal’ enjoy a normal day, watching baseball with their family. Baseball reminds us of all that once was good, and that could be again.
