City of Dayton Memorandum
TO: Mayor and Council
FROM: City Administrator, Michael Giffen
RE: Monthly Report
DATE: October/November 2018
Overview
The October 2, 2018 Council Meeting video is available on the City’s website.
The Tapestry Apartment development is underway after closing in October. It is estimated to be an 18 month building period, and at the conclusion, around 270 high end apartment units with clubhouse and pool overlooking the Ohio River.
KZF finished the Programming and Preliminary Design report for a new city building at the site of 6th and Berry Street. We will work with KZF on setting up a public meeting in the future to formally present.
Bids have been received for Riverfront Commons Phase I construction. We received 3 bids, all from reputable firms. The results were:
Prus Construction – $452,289
Senesis – $593,000
Adleta – $638,061
OKI held its annual luncheon in West Chester and I attended along with a group of Campbell County representatives and Southbank partners. The relationship with OKI and Southbank has been great for the city, producing over $2,000,000 worth of grants for Dayton in the last 6 years. Due to the timing of design of several projects, the use of this money is just now being realized and over the next several years the community will finally see the results of all the hard work that went into writing the grants and executing the projects.
Upcoming Meetings
City Council Meeting – November 20th
Main Street – November 27th
