FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Alexandria, KY – November 29, 2016 – The Campbell County burn ban will be officially lifted midnight November 29th, 2016.

Today, Campbell County Emergency Management Director William Turner announced that Judge Steve Pendry has signed an executive order lifting the burn ban after consulting with the Office of Emergency Management and area fire chiefs.  Turner said that after monitoring wildfire occurrences since the areas last rain event, we believe conditions have been met to lift the burn ban.

Turner also cautioned that regulations mandated by the Kentucky Division of Forestry remain in effect.  The Forest Fire Hazard Season runs from October 1 through December 15 and it is illegal to burn anything within 150 feet of any woodland or brush land between the hours of 6:00Am and 6:00PM.  Citizens should also remember that only natural growth (leaves, brush, and tree limbs) are allowed to be burned.  No trash is allowed to be burned at anytime.

Should a debris fire get out of hand, residents should immediately move to a place of safety and call 911 to report the fire.
